Do HD MiniDV tapes really make a difference? - canon gl1 minidv digital optically superior to sony
I have a Canon GL1 camcorder and I usually just buy your regular MiniDV tapes, but I've seen HD MiniDV tapes are good, and I wonder whether you are really good, or worth the money view additional.

pureinsomniac is correct - do not worry ...
The GL1 is not high-definition camcorder records in HDV format to DV format for standard definition only - so you can not do high-definition tape and can not benefit from a particular formulation of iron oxide to save data (HDV is 4x more data than standard definition DV). In addition, regular use HDV camcorders are the ordinary adhesive tape - the difference is minimal and significant only at the professional level.
Do not reuse the tape and not have a problem. Shoot, filling, blocking, add a new band. With about 3 U.S. dollars per are the cheapest available space.
I understand what you mean, and I know that mini-DV tapes-HD will make a difference, because MiniDV is not the only one for catching high-definition resolution at the level of independent films because the height of the band to record information. High Definition tapes, so that the camera is compressed for a better and more information about the band that will make little difference in the standard recording and playback functions, but no audio recording of professional HD broadcast is not what you should do concern is about the things on the side of the film.
